Omega-3 EFA and Lecithin Specialty Stable Milled Flax

This OMEGA-3 FLAX is a stable, highly concentrated source of the Omega-3 essential fatty acid (EFA), Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA). This unique supplement brings the Omega-3 EFA's back into balance with the omega-6 EFA, Linoleic Acid (LA), already present int the diet, resulting in numerous benefits. An imbalance in EFAs commonly results in inflammation and dermatitis. In addition, Omega-3 EFAs are critically important for neuromuscular development, skin health, coat quality and are used for imflammatory skin diseases and infections, arthritis, and flea and food allergies. Omega-3 EFAs also contribute greatly to general health, well-being, improved mental focus, are likely to be necessary for normal retinal function and are a major structural component of cell walls. The amount of Omega-3 EFAs available in the diet today is about one twentieth (1/20) of what is needed to balance the Omega-6 EFAs. Bringing these EFAs into balance not only decreases production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, but also increases the production of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. This occurs in most tissues, including the skin, decreasing the inflammatory response. By balancing the Omega-3 EFAs, pain, inflammation and current medications can likely be reduced and health dramatically improved. Flax has the highest ratio of ALA to LA of any vegetable oil. Flax is also an excellent source of dietary fibre and has naturally occuring antioxidants including vitamin E and other phenolics such as bioflavonoids and pranthocyanidins. Lecithin supplies the body with choline and inositiol. Lecithin emulsifies fat, improves digestion of fats, and aids the liver, heart, kidneys and gallbladder.
